The Masterpiece Lune Rétrograde, which in addition to the moon phase – the moon moves through a semi-circular window at 6 o’clock within 29.5 days – also displays the date, current weekday, and power reserve. A small hand shows the weekdays, the names of which are situated around the moon phase indication. The date display at 10 o’clock is a socalled retrograde indication. In this display, the hand moves through a broadly fanned segment during the course of a month, and at the end instantly returns to its starting position. Maurice Lacroix is able to show an extraordinary level of competence in this area now also. Opposite from this indication, at 2 o’clock, the power reserve indication presents important information about the winding state of the main spring and reminds the wearer to wind the watch in time.
